In 2006, The Times of India recognized Agarwal as an emerging female aviator in India. She made history in 2013 by becoming the youngest woman pilot in India to fly a Boeing-777. Agarwal gained widespread attention in 2015 for her pivotal role in saving a passenger’s life during a flight bound for New York. Responding to a passenger’s complaint of breathlessness, she made the decision to turn the flight back and safely land at Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi, facilitating prompt medical attention as the passenger was taken to a nearby hospital.

As a precautionary response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Government of India launched the Vande Bharat Mission in May 2020. The mission aimed to evacuate approximately 14,800 Indians from twelve countries using sixty-four Air India flights. Agarwal was selected as the co-pilot for the inaugural repatriation flight operated by the airline.

In 2021, Agarwal served as the captain of an all-woman crew for the inaugural flight from San Francisco to Bengaluru, marking one of the longest non-stop air routes globally.
